U19

In the County final, we will play Arravale Rovers this Saturday, 28th September, in Kilcommon at 3.00pm. This will be a huge test for the lads against the championship favourites who include two County minors in their ranks. We are asking or supporters to rally behind the team on Saturday. Admission is by ticket or Tap & Go.

Minor

In the County semi-final, we lost 3-23 to 2-15 to a very good Holycross Ballycahill side in Borrisoleigh. The Mid team led 0-13 to 0-7 at the break and got a grip of the game in the third quarter with goals in the 35th and 40th minutes. To MacDonaghs credit, they never gave up the fight, and Michael Cleary banged in a brace of goals in the 49th and 58th minutes.

Team: Andrew Austin, Cathal McIntyre, Fearghal Doheny, Jack Quinlisk, Paul Molloy, Shane Cleary (0-3, 0-1 free), Cormac Gaynor, Cormac Kennedy, Tommy Burriss (0-1), Cillian Healy, Johnny Naughnane, Michael Cleary (2-7, 0-4 frees), Michael Hennelly (0-1), Tommy O’Meara, Charlie Kennedy (0-1). Subs: Ray Quinlivan (0-1), Fiachradh Ahearne Woods (0-1), Dara O’Looney, William Jones.

It was a great year for the minors, claiming the coveted North title after an eighteen-year lapse in a very competitive championship. Thanks to the players, the management team of Cathal McIntyre, Mick Cleary, Pat Murphy, Eanna Hogan, Jack Peters and physio June Whelan for all their efforts during the year.
